What to expect

Leave the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh behind as you head into the stunning Scottish countryside with your fantastic driver-guide. You'll hunt for Nessie at Loch Ness, admire the scenery as you travel through Glen Coe and discover the magic of the Highlands as you take in the most iconic sites that Scotland has to offer!

Start your day travelling towards the Highlands and passing some of Scotland's most famous attractions including the Forth Railway Bridge, Perth and Dunkeld before reaching Pitlochry, one of the gateways to the Highlands. Here, you'll be able to sample some delicious home baking before heading north.

As you travel through Cairngorms National Park, you'll discover some of the most spectacular scenery in the the UK, and 5 of its highest mountains! Then, it's time for the second stop of the day, Loch Ness. Take an optional cruise on the loch to hunt for the monster and explore Urquhart Castle.

As you bid farewell to Nessie and pass through the Great Glen, you'll reach the Commando Memorial which was dedicated to the Royal Marine Commandos who trained there. Snap some shots of Ben Nevis here, the UK's highest mountain. Then it's onto Glen Coe which is steeped in beauty and history. As you stand at the mouth of the glen, you'll feel the past come to life as your guide tells you about the terrible massacre of Glen Coe.

As you head back to Edinburgh, you'll pass by the Stirling to salute William Wallace which is the perfect end to your Scottish adventure!

  • The boat cruise on Loch Ness is around £13.50 per person. Entrance to Urquhart Castle is £9.60 for adults and £5.80 for children
  • On 26 December there will be no cruise or castle visit available
  • No matter when you visit, the weather in Scotland can be changeable. Please bring suitable clothing for all conditions, including a waterproof jacket, sunglasses and plenty of layers. Ensure you bring shoes suitable for short walks on rough or uneven terrain
  • You don't need to bring your own meals as there will be stops throughout the day where you can purchase food, however you are more than welcome to bring along snacks or a packed lunch
  • Although most attractions and eating establishments visited accept card payments, it's recommended that you bring some cash with you
  • Please limit your luggage to 1 small/medium piece per person (no more than 15kg), and 1 small handbag or rucksack
  • This tour does not accept children under the age of 3
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of this tour
