What to expect
You'll depart in the morning from Colmar, the heart of the Alsace wine region, and travel along the wine trail in comfortable air-conditioned minivan to visit the quaint village of Turckheim. The colorful half-timbered houses and cobblestoned streets make this centuries-old village truly picturesque.
You'll be taken to a winemaker to experience the established methods of local winemaking and of course the opportunity to sample the results, before arriving at a farmhouse for lunch. You'll indulge in a traditional Marcaire's meal - a multi-course meal that has developed over the centuries to become a favorite cuisine of locals and visitors.
After lunch, you'll have time to relax and take in the stunning views along the Ridge Road - you'll be able to admire the Vosges mountain range as well as magnificent panoramas of the region's lakes and stubble fields before arriving at a goat farm, where you will attend the milking of the goats, and to finish with a tasting of goats cheese.
You'll travel back through Munster Valley, enjoying the views of the rolling green hills and abundant vineyards to arrive comfortably back at your accommodation for the early evening.
