Enjoy a half-day excursion from Bordeaux to the Medoc wine region discovering beautiful chateaux and learning about the mythical appellations that made the reputation of the Bordeaux wines.
Two tours are proposed, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Select in the order box the option that suits you best!
Morning tour (3.5 hours)
9.30am – Leave Bordeaux and head to the Medoc Region listening to the commentaries of your guide
10.15am – Enjoy a warm welcome in a beautiful Great Growth Classified Chateau steeped in history. Wander through the vineyards, tour around the vat room and the cellar, listen to an explanation of the wine making process, all the way from the vine to the bottle. Finish by tasting the estate’s wines.
11.30am – Meet and discuss with people from a charming family run estate of the region, visit the property, listen to an explanation of the main varietals of the Bordeaux region and finish by tasting the estate’s wines while enjoying an aperitif with French delicacies (fresh bread, cheese)
1.00/15pm – Back to Bordeaux.
Afternoon tour (5 hours)
1.45pm – Leave Bordeaux and drive towards “Chateau Route” of the Medoc. The guide will provide you all the information about the Bordeaux & Medoc wine region.
2.45pm – Arriving in a charming and authentic family-run estate (Chateau Lamarque, Chateau Chasse-Spleen, Chateau Siran…). Feel the intimacy and authenticity of a private chateau run by a passionate family for generations. Start the visit in the vineyards, in front of the château, tour around the traditional vat room and discover the cellar. Through a tasting class, you'll learn the steps of a proper tasting and will educate your nose in order to identify the wines aromas. We will give you our tips and tricks to taste like a pro! At the end of the visit, you will enjoy some tasting of the chateau’s wines.
4.30pm – Visit a Great Classified Growth estate (Chateau Gruaud-Larose, Chateau Lagrange…). Visit the vineyards, the vat room and the cellars of one of the most prestigious chateaux of Bordeaux. Enjoy some explanations about their wine making process, from the vine to the bottle. Finish the visit by a tasting of the estate’s wines while enjoying an aperitif with French delicacies (cheese, fresh bread).
7.15pm – Back in Bordeaux
