What to expect
Start your day with a guided tour of the castle of Azay le Rideau. Located on an island, the harmony of its facades make it one of the best examples of renaissance architecture in the Loire Valley. Tour the 16th, 17th and 19th century apartments to see the legacy of the castle's successive owners.
Next, enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery near Chinon, a former fortified farm and 16th century chateau, now owned by a Belgian couple specialized in organic wines of the cab francs variety. Discover a wide range of reds and a thirst quenching rosé!
After some free time for lunch in Langeais, you're headed to tour the Chateau of Langeais and its fifteen refined rooms, where you'll get a glimpse of the daily life of a medieval lord.
Your last stop is the beautiful gardens of Villandry, a large privately owned estate most famous for its Renaissance and vegetable gardens.
At around 5.30 pm and after a 30-minute drive, you will be back to the Tours tourism office.
