What to expect
Spend an unforgettable morning boating on the Mediterranean Sea and visit the old town of Marseille in the afternoon. This tour offers the opportunity to discover the best of Marseille and its coastline in one day.
Marseille and Provence count more than 300 days of sunshine per year so this tour will most likely take place under a clear, blue sky! Your private skipper will be waiting for you at the Vieux Port (Old Port) of Marseille, where you'll start the boat ride to the peaceful, rocky inlets of the Côte Bleue where you can swim and snorkel in the turquoise water with the gear provided.
You’ll then sail to the Islands of Frioul and the Château d’If and stop by a small and quiet lagoon with transparent water. Once anchored in a calanque, rocky inlets that are geographical marvels of the region, you’ll taste a local specialty aboard the boat. After a ride along the beautiful coastline to the Baie des Singes (Bay of Monkeys), you'll head back to the Vieux Port, the very heart of Marseille!
After this sunny, sea escapade, hop on an air-conditioned minivan and drive up to the highest point in Marseille, Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica, for an amazing 360° view of the city. Have a look inside the church before heading down to see the vestiges of Marseille’s past, enter the oldest bakery in town and visit a "santon" (figurines) workshop. Last but not least, discover Le Panier, the oldest neighborhood in France.
