Things to do in Leuven Botanical Gardens
Leuven’s Botanical Garden is an oasis in the heart of the city. Established in 1738, it’s one of Belgium’s oldest botanical gardens boasting over 8,000 plant species from around the world. That’s impressive. Stunning colours and scents will put a smile on your face and with green at every corner, it’s a great spot to unwind and take your time. You could even bring a book. Step inside the medicinal herb garden, rock garden and greenhouse – warm temperatures house exotic plants and tropical butterflies. Inside tips include the apiary and the unique sculpture of a lady resting on a chair. There’s also a playground for children to let loose and café for light refreshments.
