Things to do in Van Abbemuseum

The Van Abbemuseum showcases the best of modern and contemporary art with over 3,000 pieces inside. Fun and playful exhibitions, workshops, and activities will leave you as content as a finished canvas!

Founded in 1936 as one of the very first public museums for contemporary art in Europe, you can expect to find gems by renowned artists including Picasso, Lissitzky, Chagall, and many more. Why not take a tour to discover them for yourself. The museum's choir also organises unique musical tours where you can look at the art accompanied by singing!

Use your five senses to discover a whole new side to art at the multisensory exhibition ‘Delinking and Relinking’. This inclusive exhibition is accessible to visually or hearing-impaired visitors and wheelchair users. Don’t forget to check out what other exhibitions are on. Children are given a DIY booklet to give them fun activities so they can enjoy the art too.

Fan of yoga? Why not try the ‘Feldenkrais’ workshop and learn about movement and freedom of your body. The museum also has a cafe, library (over 130,000 titles), and if you want art to be a part of your love life, you can even get married here!
